Police seize vehicles in investigation of pregnant mother’s death
OKLAHOMA CITY — Police spent much of Saturday combing the area where the body of 25-year-old Jaymie Adams' body was found. A motorcyclist found her body near a trail at Draper Lake near SE 59th and Douglas.
The Blanchard mother had been missing for almost a month.
Her husband reported her missing back on Dec. 10 when she didn't come home after meeting a friend the night before at a McDonald's less than three miles from where her body was found.
On Sunday, the attorney for Justin Adams, Jaymie's husband, says police seized the family vehicle, the same one Jaymie had driven to McDonald's that night, for the second time.
He says they also seized Justin's mother, Tina Clarke's, vehicle.
“When he attempted to get some items out of the car, they said no you can't intercede. He told that this is what they said to him that you're a suspect and you can't touch the car or get anything out of the car,” said Irven Box, representing both Justin Adams and Tina Clarke.
Box says it was no surprise to his client to hear he's a suspect.
“By innuendos when they questioned him the time they were grilling him like he was a suspect and you know he would have to be not very intelligent if he didn't believe that they were trying to make him a suspect the first time they interrogated him,” Box said.
Box says police have asked Justin's mother, Tina Clarke, to come in for questioning on Tuesday.
“She's not going to do that. And as I've said there's been too many accusations against him already and so as I said if he's a suspect then he needs the protection of his full legal rights and that's what I'm here to do.”
Justin Adams had originally told police his wife was meeting a friend at McDonald's.
But he later told them that she engaged in sexual acts with clients on Craigslist.
Box says this means there could be an endless number of suspects.
“If she were indeed on Craigslist, which I believe she was, and she were indeed meeting men at night, especially at 11, 11:30 at night, there's no telling what she encountered during that time,” Box said.
