OKLAHOMA CITY — Business owners at a strip mall in the Asian District are quickly trying to re-open following a fire Wednesday night. The Chinatown Supermarket and the Golden Phoenix restaurant want to have the doors back open by next week for the Chinese New Year.

“Those three days, the 21st through the 23rd, are the busiest days of the year for our business, so it will hurt a lot if we don't (open) by that time,” Jason Xa said, whose family owns the restaurant.

The businesses both have hundreds of customer orders next week.

Luckily, the fire didn't cause too much damage inside the building.

Xa says there is only smoke and water damage.

All the businesses in the strip mall near 27th and Classen remained closed Thursday.

The buildings will be re-inspected before they are opened.

The stores hope to be open by early next week.
