OKLAHOMA CITY– Oklahoma City Police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store near Sheridan and Western Ave. Monday night. Officials released surveillance video showing an armed robber coming in the store and holding a knife at the clerk’s throat.

Before that forceful attack, the victim told investigators the man came in the store, picked up beef jerky, put it down then walked away.

Moments later the suspect returned and charged at the clerk, grabbing her from behind and aiming the knife at her throat.

Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow with Oklahoma City Police Department says, “The victim was very scared, very traumatized as anybody would be in this situation.”

The clerk says the suspect demanded she open the register.

While following his commands, the armed robber took the crime a step further.

“While he’s behind her, the suspect also sexually assaults her as she is standing by the register,” Sgt. Wardlow said.

In the police report the victim told investigators the suspect rubbed her pelvic area as she tried to open the cash register.

The clerk and the suspect struggled and she managed to get the knife.

The victim then held the robber at bay with the blade while dialing police.

The man grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and put it in his pocket.

He didn’t stick around but before leaving, turned back to grab an 18 pack of beer.

Police say when the suspect fled the scene he ran out the store and headed northbound on Western Ave. traveling on foot.

The suspect seen in the video is an African American man in his 40s, with braided cornrows, weighing about 150 pounds.
