Update: Tree Trimmer Targerts Elderly

OKLAHOMA CITY – We continue to keep close tabs on Brian Thornburg.

He’s the tree trimmer from Chickasha who’s accused of targeting, tricking and scamming elderly homeowners out of thousands of dollars.

Right now, he’s charged with five counts of elderly exploitation in Oklahoma and Cleveland counties.

Just this month, Thornburg appeared in an Oklahoma County courtroom where he waived his right to a preliminary hearing, meaning his case will go to trial.

Thornburg’s victims say he tricked them into thinking their trees were dead, then intimidated them into handing over a bunch of money to have them removed.

Through it all, Thornburg continued to maintain his innocence and told In Your Corner he’s simply providing a service for a fair price.

The tree trimmer’s next court appearance is set for early next year.
