Fire chief’s wife on trial for his murder
CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. — More details are coming to light in the high profile murder case against Becky Bryan. Bryan is accused of shooting and killing her husband, Keith Bryan, back in September. Keith Bryan was the Nichols Hills fire chief.
In Canadian County court Wednesday, Bryan smiled at family and friends as she was walked in in handcuffs.
A Mustang detective testified Bryan laughed while the detective was collecting evidence at the scene.
A police Lieutenant who responded to the 911 call told the court Bryan did not appear to be upset and did not ask for an ambulance or help for her husband even though Keith Bryan was still breathing when the officer arrived on scene.
A friend who was there before and after the shooting testified Bryan was frazzled, but did not appear upset and admitted to having two affairs.
One former lover testified saying he broke off his affair with Bryan months before the shooting.
He also told the court he vowed to Keith Bryan he would not contact Becky again.
However he says he got a message from Becky the night of the shooting saying she missed him and was going to inherit a large sum of money.
There was also a lot of discussion about the young man in a hoodie Bryan told law enforcement about the night of the shooting.
Becky Bryan told police the young man entered the home, shot Keith in the head, and told her, “I’m sorry ma’am, he should have given me the job,” before walking calmly out of the house through the garage.
Prosecuting attorneys did not speak with the media but Bryan’s attorney, Gary James, told KFOR’s camera, “There’s a long way from start to ending of this case and please people, just withhold judgment.’
The hearing to see if this case will go to trial is scheduled to continue April 4 with more witnesses.
