GUTHRIE, Okla. — After five hours in the pouring rain, police in Guthrie were able to end a standoff involving a man who threatened to shoot his family and himself. They received a domestic dispute call around noon Monday from a home on the 6500 block of Central Rd., near Guthrie Lake.

After several attempts to talk the man out of the house, a tactical team fired gas canisters into the home.

The man was found inside a barricaded garage with two loaded pistols nearby.

No shots were fired.

Police are not releasing his name or a motive in the case.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment and an evaluation.

The results of that evaluation may result in charges being filed.
