Kayaking for freedom
OKLAHOMA CITY — The best canoe and kayak hopefuls in the nation are here in the city this weekend, at the Olympic trials down on the Oklahoma River. What would you think if a couple of Oklahoma City residents could one day represent their country at the summer Olympic Games?
Andy Guiardino and Carlos Montalvo hope to become U.S. citizens soon. That is why they aren’t eligible for the U.S. team at the London Games this summer, but they’re rowing away for 2016 summer Olympics in Brazil.
And, again, the Olympic trials for kayak and canoe continue this weekend downtown along the Oklahoma River.
