GRAPHIC: Brutal assault leads to bizarre discovery
CHICKASHA, Okla. – A brutal attack on an Oklahoma woman leads police to a bizarre discovery.
Lawmen got a call about a woman walking down the street covered in blood which lead them to the suspect.
The suspect, Charles Wayne Spearman, reportedly had a stockpile of bizarre weapons and sex toys.
It is posted outside the place, no hunting, fishing or trespassing, but the man who lives here had enough guns and weapons for a small army.
How police found out is one wild chain of events.
“She was walking down the road around 6:30 in the morning, the victim was,” Grady County Assistant District Attorney, Leah Edwards, said. “She was covered in blood.”
Police followed the woman back to a house where she had been laying in bed with Spearman.
Police followed a trail of blood into the house where the two allegedly got into a fight.
“He was arrested at that time for assault with a dangerous weapon,” Edwards said.
The dangerous weapon was a flashlight.
The victim said Spearman severely beat her with it.
Her injuries were so severe she was left with gaping wounds and a broken nose.
Police found the flashlight along with a large assortment of guns, unusual weapons and adult toys.
“A man-made dugout or cave was found inside the residence,” Edwards said.
The victim referred to the cave as a dungeon.
“The victim reported that Mr. Spearman had threatened to throw her into his dungeon,” Edwards said.
It had been dug out inside the home with stones and bricks at the entry, a dirt floor and inside what may have been sex swings.
“I would consider this defendant dangerous based on the injuries inflicted to the victim and also based on the cache of weapons that retrieved and seized from his residence,” Edwards said.
Spearman was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.
He is out of jail on bond.
