Norman Richards - Shot in Bricktown shooting

OKLAHOMA CITY — Family members are asking for prayers after their loved one was shot in Bricktown Monday night.

Norman Richards, 22, was shot in the back and is now recovering in the hospital.

“I just want everyone to pray for him for his recovery, that’s what I want,” aunt Paula Richards said. “He is going to pull through this, he is going to pull through this.”

Oklahoma City Police said Richards and seven others were shot after someone pulled a gun.

Richards’ family said he was downtown at Thunder Alley to watch the basketball game.

His aunt said Richards and a friend were walking to their car when they heard the shots.

“He just went down to be there for the game to just cheer on the Thunder, you know, like everyone else there,” Paula said.

Police said they have one suspect in custody for the Bricktown shooting, 19-year-old Rodney Dewon Hill.

According to the affidavit, Hill, two other men and a woman were involved in an altercation with several of the shooting victims before one of the men pulled a gun and starting shooting into the crowd.

It did not state if Hill was the suspected shooter but he has been arrested on eight counts of shooting with intent to kill.

Police are still searching for other suspects in this shooting by they do not have any other suspect information at this time.
