Man’s body found in Canadian River

OKLAHOMA CITY—Rescue crews say a man’s body has been recovered along the North Canadian River after drowning Saturday evening.

Around 7 p.m. on Saturday, emergency crews were notified of a possible drowning on the river near N.E. 63rd St. and Midwest Blvd.

According to authorities, a large group of people were swimming in the river when the victim tried to cross the water.

Friends called 911 when they could no longer see the man anymore.

Divers were called in and the victim’s body was recovered shortly after 8 p.m.

So far, his identity has not been released.
