“Bone-A-Fide” event pairs people with pets
OKLAHOMA CITY—We all felt the dog days of summer upon us this weekend and a few lucky dogs were able to enjoy a little fun in the sun.
The “Bone-A-Fide” dog show and pet adoption was held Saturday afternoon and was open to all breeds.
Our own Emily Sutton helped judge this year’s show with prizes awarded to the “Top Dog.”
Some of the other contests included “Best Pooch Smooch” and “Most Mysterious Heritage.”
Rescue dogs were also available for adoption and organizers say the event is great way to bring home a new member of the family.
Chad Yarbrough, with St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, said, “Unconditional love the entire time; you come home, they are just wagging their tail at you, they are happy to see you. Great on a stormy night, they will curl up next to you and be your best friend day in and day out.”
Nearly a dozen families adopted a rescue pet at Saturday’s event.
