Driver crashes, power pole falls
OKLAHOMA CITY — Fire crews were on standby following a car crash early Thursday morning.
Police say about 2 a.m. a driver traveling southbound on Walker Avenue near SW 89th Street fell asleep at the wheel.
The driver crossed the center line hitting a power pole.
The driver was hurt and checked out by EMSA.
EMSA paramedics released the driver at the scene.
The crash damaged the power lines causing them to arc.
Crews called OG&E to the scene.
The utility fixed the damaged lines before they could do any additional damage.
