Smash and grab bandit strikes again
OKLAHOMA CITY – A smash and grab thief has folks in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood on alert.
The brazen thief kicks in door then hurries through the home swiping merchandise.
He tends to strike during the day when there’s a better chance of people actually being home. The majority of the break-ins have occurred on a string of Saturdays.
Neighbors like Keith Wilcox, a stay at home dad, worry about their children.
“I’m more scared for her,” he said. “My job is to protect my daughter.”
Wanda Manuel says in one case, a young woman came face to face with the intruder.
“The man rang the doorbell and before the girl could get up, he’d broken in the door,” she said. “He’d seen her and left.”
Wanda tries imagining how she would react in the same scenario.
Police are investigating. If you have any information on the rash of break-ins, call police.
