Car versus pole, driver flees

OKLAHOMA CITY — A crash involving a car and a light pole early Wednesday morning.

The car crashed about 1:40 a.m. at NE 36th and Phillips, in the area of Lincoln and Kelley.

When crews arrived, they found the vehicle smashed up against a light pole.

The driver had disappeared.

Police believe the driver may have been driving under the influence and lost control, leaving the roadway just before hitting the light pole and taking off.

Police are looking for the driver.

They will use the vehicle tag to locate the person responsible.
