Graphic: dog found tied up also dead

OKLAHOMA CITY- Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is investigating after a dead dog was found with a strap tied around all four legs.  John McDonald discovered the dog in a wooded area near Exchange Avenue just south of the Crosstown Thursday night.  

McDonald called the city to report the incident.

“I didn’t know what to expect, but I went back there and found a dog trussed up like a calf at a rodeo,” McDonald said.

 McDonald also found a garbage bag near the dog.

He believes the body of another dog was inside the bag.

“It’s pretty shocking. We’d like to think that someone wouldn’t have harmed a dog,” Jon Gary with Animal Welfare said.

Gary can’t say for sure that this is a case of animal cruelty, but he believes the dog was more than likely abused.

In cases like this, authorities say they rarely find those responsible because there are very few witnesses.
