Construction worker hit by truck in construction zone
OKLAHOMA CITY — Here is a cautionary tale about the importance of staying alert in construction zones. A highway worker was injured when the driver of a pick-up hit a temporary road sign and pinned a worker between the sign and his truck.
It happened before the lunch hour in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at Air Depot.
Trooper Betsy Randolph Oklahoma of the Highway Patrol says, “He did have visible injuries that I could see — a head wound, leg wounds, and as we understand from EMSA he did have some internal injuries.”
Randolph says they’re very grateful the ODOT worker was not killed, but that driver who hit him could face charges and fines.
