Man arrested for 2nd degree rape

Enid man arrested for second degree rape Friday sits in Garfield County Detention Facility without bond.

Enid Police said they received information that 20-year-old Joshua Byrum engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old female.

 Detective John Robinson interviewed the 15-year-old and she admitted she and Byrum had sexual intercourse.

 Det. Robinson spoke with Byrum, and Byrum confirmed the allegations are true.

 In the state of Oklahoma, rape in the second-degree carries a maximum punishment of 15 years in the State Penitentiary.
