OKLAHOMA CITY — A Colorado man is behind bars accused of killing two people in a car crash over the weekend.

Eric Bowman, 24, is behind held on multiple charges, including two complaints of second degree murder, reckless driving and speeding.

Investigators say Bowman was driving drunk near NW 10th and County Line Road Saturday at more than 100 mph.

The crash killed Joshua Wright, 35, and Tammy Long, 42.

Three other passengers were injured.

Bowman ran from police initially, and was arrested quickly.

The crash forced crews to close the road for several hours after a gas line ruptured.

Police say a truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit an SUV that was pulling into the roadway.

Authorities say the truck hit the vehicle with such force it actually pushed the SUV into a signal pole.

That pole toppled over and ruptured a high-pressure gas line.

Bo Thurston said, “It was coming so fast, there was no reaction time really and then it just got plowed into.”

The driver of the truck ran from the scene but was arrested just a few minutes later, hiding in a field.
