Pink casts give donkey bright future
SHROPSHIRE, U.K. — A baby donkey in Britain got off to a rough start in life but now her outlook is bright, thanks to a pair of pink casts.
Her name is Primrose and although Primrose flowers are early bloomers, this Primrose is making do.
She was born prematurely and would have died in the wild but veterinarians in Bridgnorth were able to save her.
The challenge was how to prevent the young foal from developing bowed legs, her bones were not yet developing properly.
They put her front legs in pink plaster casts to protect them while she grows.
Primrose doesn’t seem to mind much; she is well on her way to recovery.
