Serial killing of cows in Choctaw
CHOCTAW, OK– The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information about cow killings in Choctaw.
Choctaw police believe a series of cow shootings are connected, and are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the shooter or shooters.
Two cows were found dead from gun shots in the head and chest along NE 36th street on May 21st.
Police say a small-caliber rifle was used.
Three calves and a mother cow were discovered a month later. They were also shot and killed on a neighboring property with the same type of weapon.
Cynthia Armstrong, HSUS’ Oklahoma state director said, “It takes a truly callous person to kill defenseless animals for their amusement. “We are hopeful that this reward will bring forward anyone with information about these terrible and senseless shootings.”
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Choctaw Police Department Officer Robert Bosse at (405) 769-3821.
