AAA tipsy tow keeping drivers safe Labor Day weekend
OKLAHOMA CITY – AAA Oklahoma will be keeping drivers safe this Labor Day weekend with their Tipsy Tow service.
AAA Oklahoma’s Tipsy Tow program will run from 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 to 4 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Shawnee, Bartlesville, Enid, Muskogee, Ardmore, Tahlequah and Lawton.
Residents in those areas will be able to have their car towed and a ride home for free if they have a little too much to drink and feel unsafe behind the wheel.
“In some situations, even one drink can be enough to impair your driving abilities,” Chuck Mai said, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “And the more you have to drink, the greater the chances for tragedy behind the wheel. We hope Tipsy Tow gets a lot of calls over the holiday. This way, everyone, including the vehicle, gets home safely.”
The service is free and open to the public; you don’t have to be a AAA member.
To call for Tipsy Tow, call (800) AAA-HELP and ask for Tipsy Tow.
