Explosion, fire destroys Woodward welding shop

WOODWARD, Okla. — Authorities are working to determine what caused an explosion and fire at a Woodward welding shop Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said witnesses reported an explosion and subsequent fire destroyed Diamond Services.

The Woodward News is reporting Woodward Fire Chief Steve Day said crews had to pull back because of the danger of actelyene equipment and oxygen explosions.

Officials said no one was injured in the fire.

Oklahoma Avenue was closed to traffic between 34th St. and 48th St. for several hours.
