Former Shawnee teacher charged for sex with student

Bethel High School teacher charged in sex abuse

SHAWNEE, Okla. — A former high school teacher has been charged for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student. 

Former Bethel High School teacher, 40-year-old Wendy L. Hickman, has been charged with second-degree rape, forcible sodomy and soliciting sex or communicating with a minor by use of technology.  

The freshman English teacher resigned in August.
