Frugal Friday: Sept. 7

Whether you want step back in time at the Governor’s Mansion, catch a free local festival or get cheap and convenient game day parking, you can do it all on a budget this weekend.

Okarchefest

Something else amazing in Okarche besides the fried chicken? Okarchefest.

Saturday starts with a mad dash run, catch live entertainment on Main St. all day and little one won’t want to miss the Kiddie Corral with games and inflatables.

See crafters show off their skills and taste the variety of food for lunch or dinner.

There is a small cost for some activities but all money raised supports the Okarche Educational Foundation.

Septemberfest

Bring the family to talk to Civil War soldiers and cowboys in a day of special tradition at the Governor’s Mansion and the Oklahoma History Center Saturday.

Everyone will enjoy historical re-enactments, crafts, storytelling, theater, face-painting and agricultural exhibits at the 16th Annual Septemberfest.

Check out the fun on the grounds of the Governor’s Mansion, located at 820 N.E. 23rd St. in Oklahoma City.

You can also enjoy free admission to the Oklahoma History Center.

Activities will be open to the public at the Governor’s Mansion from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Affordable Game Day Parking
