Missing girl found blocks from home
OKLAHOMA CITY — A 6-year-old girl is back home with her family after she went missing Wednesday afternoon.
Oklahoma City Police found Alexis Peterson just a few blocks from her house in a neighborhood near N.W. 178th St. and Western Ave.
Theresa Fox said her daughter left school and walked home instead of taking the bus to her daycare.
“I’m just happy that she’s home and accounted for,” Fox said. “I was just wanting to try and find her. I knew she had to be somewhere safe because it is a great community here.”
Police officers and neighbors spent the afternoon searching for the little girl.
Fox wanted to thank everyone who helped find her.
“Thank you for all your help and taking your time out from your busy day and helping find my daughter,’ Fox said.
