Transformer fire causes power plant explosion

PONCA CITY, Okla.—A powerful explosion rocks the town of Ponca City and leaves many without power.

According to officials, a transformer caught fire at the power plant around 9 a.m. Saturday.

Within minutes of the fire sparking, a giant fireball shot flames high into the sky.

We’re told the cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
