Police identify bodies found in car in OKC shooting
OKLAHOMA CITY — Police have identified the two victims found shot to death in a vehicle Sunday.
Authorities said 19-year-old Javier Francisco and 22-year-old Freddy Valle were found dead in a car near Lottie Ave. and 24th St.
Police are still working to find possible suspects in the double homicide.
It’s an unsettling scene to those who live nearby, like Donnie Williams.
“When you see the blood trail, a lot of things go through your mind,” Williams said. “It could have been my grandson. It could have been one of the people I know who are close to me.”
Williams said he heard several gunshots just before 10 p.m. Sunday.
Police found the bodies of two men in the car but no suspects nearby.
Many who live nearby didn’t see anything, but with a busy convenience store blocks away, detectives hope to gather more information.
“We want to bring closure to their families,” OKC Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said. “We encourage anyone out there who has any information, this can be very populated area because that store there on the corner, we encourage them to contact police. No tip is too small.”
Looking back at the shooting scene, Williams calls for community programs and support in hopes this trouble doesn’t return to his neighborhood.
“We do need to stop the violence, but we can’t stop the violence unless everybody gets involved,” Williams said.
Police aren’t saying what led up to the shooting or whether they believe it is gang-related.
