#6-ranked OU sees rare home loss to #15 Kansas State
For only the fourth time under current head coach Bob Stoops’ entire OU career, the Sooners lost on their home turf to #15-ranked Kansas State Saturday evening. The #6 Sooners suffered from self-inflicted wounds all evening and the Wildcats came on strong in the final quarter to knock out the Sooners 24-19.
Pre-season Heisman hopeful Landry Jones didn’t have quite the school-record 500-yard passing game he has in last season’s matchup with Kansas State, throwing for 298 yards as Kansas State rushed for 213 yards to seal their solid ground attack Saturday night in Norman.
Kansas State head couch Bill Snyder, a mentor to OU coach Bob Stoops, gained only his second victory against his former student since 2003 when Kansas State beat OU in the Big 12 championship game.
