Crews knock out grass fire in SW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY — Fire crews have put out a grass fire near S.W. 119th St. and MacArthur Blvd. Tuesday afternoon. 

Authorities said the fire was approaching a barn on the 200 block of S.W. 119th St. but they contained it before it threatened any structures.

Roads are back open in the area. 

Fire crews said this fire had the potential to be a much larger problem; it was approaching the airport. 

Had the blaze burned closer to the airport, flights could have been impacted. 

Luckily firefighters extinguished the blaze before it became an issue.
