ENID, Okla. — Car lovers from across the Midwest revved their engines in Enid Saturday to honor veterans from coast to coast.

The second Annual American Garfieldi Cruise and Car Show raced to raise just over $7,000 in an effort to bring a Vietnam Memorial to the Sooner State.

Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park Executive Director Elaine Johns said they are almost to the finish line, $600,000.

“We are just about $50,000 away from our goal,” Johns said.

She said this memorial will honor the Vietnam vets who may not have received such a warm welcome home.

KFOR-TV’s own Chase Thomason and Ashton Edwards were in Meadowlake Park to help judge the car show and hand out awards.
