Norman North student selected for prestigious marching band
NORMAN, Okla. — The U.S. Army recently selected football players and marching band members for the upcoming prestigious All-American Bowl.
A Norman North High School Senior was among those selected for the honor.
Kelsey Hernandez will perform with the All-American Marching Band for the Jan. 5 bowl game at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Hernandez’ dad, Trent Davis, is the band director at Norman North High School.
Both of her parents, along with her aunt and uncle, were in the color guard as teens.
Hernandez is one of just 125 students to make the All-American squad; just three Oklahomans were invited.
“It’s really exciting,” Hernandez said. “A lot of kids don’t get to do this. It’s such a great honor to be chosen to do this.”
Ninety football players from around the country were chosen to be on the two teams that will compete at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game.
