YWCA campaign to stop cycle of violence
October is domestic violence awareness month.
Everyone is urged to wear purple Thursday to draw attention to the 25,000 incidents of domestic violence reported in Oklahoma last year alone.
The YWCA provides a safe haven for battered women and now they’re in the middle of a fundraising campaign to build a badly needed new shelter for women and children.
YWCA Development Officer Paige Mills-Haag stopped by to tell us more about it.
Wear purple Thursday and help break the cycle of violence by donating to the YWCA capital building campaign for a new women and children’s shelter.
