$10,000 reward offered for killer’s information

Spencer shooting

SPENCER, Okla. — Sara Burdine said her son, Jean Ciar Pierce, had a humongous heart and was a really kind person.

But a gunman took Pierce from this world nearly seven weeks ago.

He was at Shakers Sports Bar in Spencer when a fight broke out and bullets started flying.

Pierce was hit but made his way to his car then crashed and died.

With no suspect in custody and limited cooperation from witnesses, his mother can’t find closure.

“We want to know how and why he died,” she said. “Not knowing any of the answers to these questions that we have makes it really difficult to move on.”

Wednesday, the day he would have turned 24, Burdine placed a $10,000 reward ad on digital billboard pleading for anyone with information to come forward.

“A lot of people are saying ‘I don’t know who did it so I might as well not call,'” she said. “We need names of people there or maybe people that left before police got there. We’re just grasping at straws here; we need any information that the public can give us.”

Investigators said the more than 200 people there that fateful night are being tight-lipped.

“Basically we’re at a stand still. No one is talking. We just need for people to come forward and give that information and they can do so anonymously.”

Loved ones and friends gathered at his grave to honor the day of his birth.

Every balloon released is prayer of hope and a longing to bring Pierce’s killer to justice.
