Police: Truck driver knocks out powerline, doesn’t stop
YUKON, Okla. — A large semi-truck knocked out a power line Tuesday night.
According to Yukon Police, the driver didn’t stop after hitting the cable line around 5 p.m.
The line was dangling in front of the Yukon Police department near Highway 4 and Route 66.
Captain Mitch Hoskins said a woman snapped a photo of the truck to help police track down the driver.
The truck was hauling oil field equipment.
“I got the information of the escort company and the transport company,” Capt. Hoskins said. ”That’s been given to Cox for the damage to their lines.”
Many of the businesses in the area were without power.
Police blocked off the street so work crews could fix the power lines.
The police station has a multiple backup systems so it did not lose internet or power.
