OSBI investigating fatal pursuit
LAWTON, Okla.—The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into a police chase that ended in a fatal car accident.
According to Lawton police, it was around 3 a.m. Saturday when officers were called to a domestic assault at the Super 9 Motel in Lawton.
When they arrived, they spotted a man taking off in his vehicle.
Officers tried to follow him but they couldn’t catch him.
After they called off the chase, another officer saw the car and a second pursuit began.
However, the driver of the car crashed the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lawton police called OSBI agents to collect evidence and reconstruct the accident.
We’re told their findings will be turned over to the Comanche County District Attorney for review.
