OKLAHOMA CITY—Heavy thunderstorms dropped much-needed rain across the state but the water left behind gave way to flooding in some areas.

The high water stranded many motorists who did not realize just how deep it actually was on the roadways.

Firefighters and police were called to help a few drivers who were stuck in the floods.

One driver said it was something she thought would never happen to her.

Nina Rosario said, “Always see this, like, on T.V. and I never thought it would happen to me. It did, it’s a scary situation, that’s for sure.”

Lightning Creek looked more like a river Saturday.

Fortunately, it appears the creek did not flood any nearby homes.

Flooding was not the only problem caused by the storms; power outages left more than 6,000 OG&E customers without electricity at the height of the storm.
