HARRAH, Okla. — It was supposed to be James Doner’s dream house but it has become his worst nightmare.
Doner said, “I got to rebuild everything.”
James recently purchased a single-wide mobile home with every intention of relocating it and starting a family.
But Mother Nature postponed the move.
Doner told us, “I was supposed to move a week ago but that got delayed by the rain.”
That gave crooks enough time to break out a window and ransack his property.
James said the intruders ripped off everything from light bulbs to bath tubs.
“You hear about thieves taking everything but the kitchen sink,” he said. “They took the sink. Heck, they even took all the light bulbs.”
What they didn’t steal, the intruders vandalized.
Ax Theriault owns the five-acre property where that trailer and another rental property were sitting.
He said, “I found the whole thing was a mess and called the sheriff. It was a pig pen.”
He said the thieves even pulled out the septic tank and utility wires that will cost him thousands to replace.
Theriault said, “They stole all the copper wires from the meter to the trailer.”
James is finally moving his home but he said it will be a while before he can actually move in.
Doner said, “It makes you mad. Real mad.”
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
