Teen arrested in police shootout
OKLAHOMA CITY — Police were involved in a shootout with a teen suspect Thursday night.
About 10:30 p.m. Oklahoma City police officers were called to the 5300 block of S. Huddleston, near S.E. 59th St. and Bryant.
Police were investigating several burglary cases in the area when they spotted a group of people standing near a parked car smoking marijuana.
Police said one of the suspects, 19-year-old Solomon Hall, took off running.
“Officers gave chase,” OKC Police Capt. Dexter Nelson said. “Then that subject doubled back around towards the officer and fired a shot. One officer returned fire.”
After shots were fired, Hall stopped running and gave himself up to police.
Authorities believe a car was hit by gunfire during the shooting but both shots missed their intended targets and no one was hurt.
Police are trying to figure out why the suspect ran.
Hall will likely face charges of shooting with intent to kill.
