Del City Police arrest suspects after finding body
OKLAHOMA CITY — Police are releasing new details about a weekend murder in Del City where a man was shot and killed after an altercation.
Police initially responded to a burglary in progress call at Ashwood Apartments early Saturday morning.
But when they arrived, officers found 33-year-old Keaunce Mustin dead, lying in his own blood.
Police said Philip Davis was on the other end of the shotgun.
According to authorities, Davis was inside the apartment with Singolia Vaughn and three children.
Davis and Vaughn first told police they didn’t know what happened and then later said Mustin was trying to break in.
Investigators soon learned Mustin and Vaughn were in a relationship.
“There is a domestic relationship between Mustin and the female (Vaughn) that lives in the residence which we believe may have led to this altercation,” Del City Police Capt. Jodi Suit said.
Vaughn was arrested for obstructing justice after lying to detectives.
Suit said, “Philip Davis is a felon so he was charged with possession of a firearm and now he’s also charged with murder in the first degree.”
Mustin’s family is devastated; they want answers and justice.
“He loved people, he had a big heart there was no reason to shoot him,” Mustin’s cousin, Katherine Quinn, said. “You could have resolved that situation no matter what happened without shooting him.”
She told us he leaves behind a 12-year-old daughter.
Davis is being held without bond.
