Suspect jumps out of squad car into traffic
OKLAHOMA CITY — An Oklahoma City Police suspect jumped out of a moving police cruiser during the morning drive Tuesday morning.
About 8 a.m. the squad car was traveling eastbound on I-44 near SW 29th Street with the subject in the back of the vehicle.
Police believe the suspect got out of the car through the window which was either left open or broken during the brief escape.
The man leapt from the moving vehicle into highway traffic.
The suspect was injured when he made that jump for freedom.
According to police on the scene he was rushed to the hospital where he remains in police custody.
No word on the suspect’s condition.
Traffic was tied up for about an hour.
