Officer-involved shooting injures one at grocery store
OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that sent one man to the hospital.
The shooting occurred in a parking lot near S.W. 59th St. and Walker Thursday afternoon.
Police officers fired multiple shots after they were confronted by a man with a weapon.
Capt. Dexter Nelson would not say what kind of weapon the suspect pulled on police.
“We have homicide detectives and internal affairs out here on the scene to determine exactly what happened. We have several witnesses that saw this,” Capt. Nelson said.
Police originally responded to the area because the man was walking in and out of traffic.
The man was transported to the hospital.
