Mother speaks about crimes against children
ENID, Okla.—The mother of two young girls who were allegedly sexually assaulted by a close friend is speaking out about the crime.
Last week, police arrested 49-year-old Ronald Fletcher on two counts of child sexual abuse.
Authorities say the victims are a 4-year-old girl and her 6-year-old sister.
Their mother, who wants to remain unidentified, said the girls knew Fletcher well, even calling him “Uncle Ron.”
She said, “He took my children’s innocence and they didn’t deserve that.”
According to the investigators, Fletcher confessed to the crimes.
Court records show that he also admitted to molesting another small child.
“I look at my kids and I cry. I apologize and they are like ‘what’s wrong?’ I feel bad because I couldn’t protect them.”
The girls are now seeing a counselor.
Fletcher was booked into the Garfield County Jail.
His bond is set at $500,000.
