Pilot Jon Welsh visits Western Oaks Elem. on Veterans Day

I had a great time and was honored this morning to be able to talk with the students of Western Oaks Elementary about some of my experiences in the military. 

The main thing I wanted to convey was there is so much more to a country and to war than what’s shown on TV. 

I showed them pictures of the city UR (Abraham’s birth place) which was right outside our gate and how we lived when we were deployed. 

After it was over I was able to talk with some other veterans and no matter where you were or when you were in, you always have something special in common. 

I hope everybody had a great Veterans Day and, from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate those of you who have served.
