Durant, Perkins spread holiday cheer
OKLAHOMA CITY– The Oklahoma City Thunder served up a bit of holiday cheer by handing out Thanksgiving meals to families through the Urban Mission.
Kevin Durant, Kendrick Perkins, Rumble the Bison and a couple of Thunder girls were all on hand to share some memories with a few local families.
Kendrick Perkins, Thunder center, said, “It’s always a blessing to come by and give back to the community.”
Kevin Durant, Thunder forward, said, “It makes you realize what the important things in life are; to be a part of this community is a blessing, to do what we do is a blessing. To know that we can touch people’s lives by just meeting them is pretty cool. I’m glad we got this opportunity.”
Organizers say the Thunder stars handed out about 400 meals Saturday.
