Tulsa mother also charged in dog crate neglect case
TULSA,Okla.– A Tulsa mother is now facing a charge of child neglect after one of her children was found locked inside a cage.
On Friday, a warrant was issued for 27-year-old Erin Lewallen on one count of child neglect.
The charge alleges she should have known about her 47-year-old husband’s history of substance abuse.
Last Sunday, police were called to the Lewallen home after neighbors spotted a 4-year-old in the backyard without any clothes.
When officers arrived, they say they found William Lewallen passed out in bed with a naked 3-year-old asleep next to him.
As they searched the rest of the home, authorities allegedly found the couple’s 18-month-old locked in a dog crate, covered in feces.
William Lewallen was arrested immediately on a charge of child neglect.
