DUI driver hits squad car

OKLAHOMA CITY — An Oklahoma City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after hitting a police squad car early Monday morning.

It happened about 3 a.m. Monday as the officer was parked on the side of the road near NW 30th and May.

A driver traveling westbound, drifted over and clipped the front of the police unit, authorities said.

After hitting the police car, the driver kept going before swiping a telephone pole and then blowing out a tire.

Neither the officer nor the driver was injured.

The driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
