Police: Driver who hit woman may not be at fault
A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a car near N.W. 50th St. and Tulsa.
It happened just after 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said a 19-year-old woman was hit while crossing 50th St.
Police said the victim and her boyfriend were on their way to a friend’s house when it happened.
The driver, who was also a young woman, called police.
OKC Police Lieutenant Isaac Goodman said at this point it doesn’t look like the driver was at fault.
“It doesn’t look like there was alcohol or speed involved on the part of the driver,” he said. “The victim’s boyfriend who was with her indicated she didn’t look in that direction when she ran across the street.”
The victim was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition.
Authorities have not released the names of anyone involved at this time.
