OKLAHOMA CITY - Residents at the Andrews Square Apartments said Michael Sandy is notorious around the complex and police agree.

Sandy's latest run-in with lawmen happened earlier this month.

"This was a man who was apparently having some type of an episode outside of an apartment," OKC Police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

According to police, a woman who lived nearby tried to get Sandy to calm down but he turned on her and attacked her.

She told police, "I was afraid I was going to get raped."

"She was trying to fight back," Knight said. "Fortunately, a neighbor saw this and then rushed into her rescue. When police arrived they actually found the man standing outside. He was asleep."

Police said it's not often that a person snoozes in the middle of a crime.

"Actually leaning up against the door where the crime had taken place, that is certainly something that's out of the ordinary," Knight said.

The Oklahoma City Housing Authority also issued a statement about the incident.

"The Oklahoma City Housing Authority does not tolerate acts of violence toward residents or their guests. With any documented violent act, we immediately file for a 48-hour eviction against the perpetrator. The Court must rule on the eviction request. We hope the Judge will agree acts of this type should not be tolerated and that the remaining residents can live in their home without fear."

Stacy was booked into jail on sexual battery and burglary in the first degree.
