Okla. Powerball winner feels like she won the big one
NORMAN, Okla. – Stephanie Cottrell’s having a good day, a winning day.
“Well, I’ve never played the Powerball and I was like well, why not,” Cottrell said.
A couple of ticket buys later, she’s the winner of $12.
While it may not be any $580 million jackpot, it feels like one to her.
She didn’t know there could be Powerball winning tickets that were not part of the big take.
“When she told me, you know, you won and she didn’t give me a total, I was like, don’t get excited, don’t get excited and then she told me $12, I was like, OK,” Stephanie said.
With record sales of over a billion dollars for this drawing, there are a lot of people just like Stephanie, small winners but winners just the same.
As for Stephanie, she said she’ll play again and likely spend her winnings on a couple of new tickets.
