Family of four escapes fire in duplex
OKLAHOMA CITY — An Oklahoma City family of four safely escaped their burning home when their duplex caught fire early Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to the fire near NW 12th and Penn about 6:30 a.m.
According to firefighters, a person on one side of the duplex smelled smoke and called 911.
Eyewitnesses say there were two people living on the non-burning side of the duplex, and a family of four living on the side that caught fire.
All six people escaped uninjured.
Crews believe the fire started in a closet on one side of the duplex.
The fire was contained to one side and caused about $15,000 in damage.
